Palestinian Prayer Leaders Visit Al-Azhar, Imam Hussein Mosque in Cairo
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A number of Palestinian preachers and prayer leaders visited Al-Azhar Islamic Center and Imam Hussein (AS) Mosuqe (Al-Hussein Mosque) in Cairo, capital of Egypt.
The trip to Egypt was made in cooperation with the Awqaf International Academy as part of efforts to train prayer leaders and religious preachers, Al-Wafd News reported.
Egypt’s Awqaf Ministry also contributed to the programs held for the Palestinian preachers.
A number of the ministry’s officials as well as those from Al-Azhar were present during the visits.
The Imam Hussein Mosque was originally built in 1154 during the reign of Fatimid Caliphs and then later reconstructed in 1874.
Every year ceremonies are held at the mosque to celebrate the birthday of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shia Imam.
